Bolla Srinivas Reddy,
Principal, College of Fine Arts and Professor in Sculpture
Born in Suryapet of Telangana, Prof. Bolla Srinivas Reddy pursued graduation (Gold Medal) in Sculpture at the JNTU College of Fine Arts and Architecture, Hyderabad, and went on to M.S University Baroda to specialize in the same program under the eminent artist-teachers. During his three decades, he dedicated his life to teaching and mentoring sculptors by facilitating a studio space at his residence cum studio for artists to continue their practice.
Prof. Bolla Srinivas Reddy utilized his experience in Art circles and art research in shaping up the College of Fine Arts during his tenure as the Principal and the Registrar at the University. His close association with eminent artists helped not only in expanding his art practice and also resulted in the right equilibrium in academics and artistic freedom in College of Fine Arts, Hyderabad by ensuring interactive platforms for artists across the country, through several art camps, symposiums and exhibitions. He took initiation to conduct international symposiums in Hyderabad, with a greater vision he expanded the Department of Sculpture with adequate infrastructure at the College of Fine Arts, JNFAU and continued to bridge the academics and art circle.
Apart from his solo exhibitions, Prof.Srinivas Reddy took part in several art camps, workshops, and exhibitions, where he displayed his artworks and delivered lectures through slide shows. He organised art camps, symposiums and art residency workshops with eminent artists and experts for the promotion of art in Hyderabad. For his professional excellence and contribution to the contemporary art, the Government of Telangana honoured him with Prathibha Award and State Award along with several other recognitions and achievements such as National Award by Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, Featured artist on several websites and Doordarshan National, New Delhi, has telecasted his Artistic journey.
